Alamo in Shadows

I'm headed to the river at twilight again tomorrow with some photo friends. This shot of the Alamo was taken late at night which is why you don't see the throngs of visitors you normally would. I found a new place to park downtown and you can practically see the walls of the grounds around the Alamo from where you park. So...if anyone is in town and needs a tour guide, give me a shout.

  1. Oh, dang it! I seem to have erased my comment when I clicked on the image for a better view. Great shot, Kim. I've never seen the Alamo in person. I think you'd get a kick out of this- I found a gallery in Santa Fe today that has ORIGINAL works by Ansel Adams, Bresson, Weston, Liebowitz. Prices form 10K to 175K! As an amateur photographer- very fun to see!

  2. How cool. I dream of running across someones work in a thrift store someday and becoming wealthy enough to support my photo habit and travel bug.

Speaking of the Alamo. Its a little surreal to find it neslted in among all the modern buildings. It reminds me of images of Rome I've seen where people live cheek to jowl with ancient history everyday.
