Here's where I'll be

 

 

It has been a busy year so far and is only going to get busier.  I hope you get to see my work at one of these upcoming venues.  The "WindowFramed" project really is a labor of love and the love I'm getting back from it is making the hard work worth while.  Even if you don't make it into some of these upcoming events please go check out the artwork of the other wonderful artists that will be there.  

 

 

New Mexico adventure

New Mexico certainly did live up to the title Land of Enchantment.  We followed rainstorms and back roads all about the state.

Wandered through old neighborhoods and envied colorful doors, windows and gardens.

The best part of all was having these adventures with my Mom and sister Cheryl.  The "go see" gene is strong in the family and roaming the roads with like minded folk can't be beat.

Continuing the Western theme of the summer will be my next venue.  I'll be on the courthouse square during Celebrate Bandera this Labor Day weekend.

Come out and enjoy all that makes Bandera the cowboy capitol of the world. Longhorns, cowboys, music, food and fun.

Back road gem

 

Little Joshua Creek

I've been running the roads again and there is no better time than October to do that in my neck of the woods.  At this time of year we've gotten some rain.  The humidity has dropped.  I like nothing better than driving slow with my windows down listening to bird song and looking for what's around the next bend in the road.  This bend showed me a low water crossing at Little Joshua Creek in the Texas Hill Country.  I pulled off the road and just stood there with my camera.  Several farm and ranch trucks passed as I stood and each driver waved with a smile.  They knew they had it good out here.

A Cowgirl's Dream

I spent part of yesterday communing with the farm and ranch folk at the livestock show and rodeo here in town. Huge barns full of all manner of livestock.
Horses,pigs,goats I'm sure there was a bear in one of the barns. It was fragrant, colorful and a whole nuther world. Just what I love to try to get peeks at. I met a fellow photographer there that is living her dream. Joanne Meekes. She takes photographs of a lifestyle she loves and lives, ranching. She hits the San Antonio and Houston rodeos and the Calgary Stampede selling her work and then spends the rest of her time with her horses on her ranch in Wyoming. She had a style that was unique to her. The kind of artist that if you saw a piece you would know it is her work. She found a passion for a subject and is managing to capture that and share it. I'm still young in my photography and am still looking for that voice that is uniquely mine.
